This afternoon at the Kirkwood Manor Christmas party, it was absolutely wonderful to have been visited by Bella who was beautifully dressed in her Santa “dress” and boots! My mother is a resident at Kirkwood. My daughter, who is a special needs young lady, was with me to enjoy the party with Mother. My daughter was absolutely thrilled to meet Bella, and to have her picture taken with her! Diana was so considerate of my request to take a photo, and I want her to know how much I appreciate her for that! I was especially impressed with her interactions with all the residents as she took Bella from one person to another and to offer them the comfort of petting such a wonderful Bella! The expressions on each resident’s face was so delightful to observe. It was obvious that they enjoyed their contact with Bella. Goodness! What a wonderful Christmas gift Diana and “Santa” Bella gave to everyone! Thank you so much! Merry Christmas to you and the Paws 4 Hearts group!

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to Dinkum and Sandi. They came to visit my Mother and I at Methodist Stone Oak Hospital on Wednesday or Thursday (You know how time moves strangely in the hospital, it’s hard to remember when it was.) My Mother is 94 and quite ill. Actually, she has been dismissed by her physician to Hospice. It meant so much to her to visit with Dinkum. My Mom grew up on a small farm and loves animals. She’s been unable to leave her living area for about 6 months. Usually, she visits with my dogs, but that has been impossible lately. Dinkum brought a smile to her face! I haven’t seen her smile in a long time. Thank you for sharing your joy with us, if only for a short time.

I want to share with you the enjoyment that my daughter “Kylee” had during the recent field trip to Morgan’s Wonderland that the Citibank Bright Horizon Daycare went on July 12th. She has not stopped talking about how all the workers at the park where so helpful and polite. She was very impressed about how “Everyone” could enjoy the rides or activities and no one was left out because of their “challenges/disabilities”. She specifically mentioned a lady named “Karen” who was there with a dog that goes to hospitals for our service men and women who have been hurt in the line of duty. I did some digging and found out more about who this Karen was and the organization “Paws 4 Hearts”. I would like to send a special thanks to her and her service dog for all the good work that they are doing. Kylee was very excited to see that other people do care for our military men and woman who have been hurt in the line of duty and are helping to “heal” them on the road to recovery.
