Karen and the Volunteers of Paws 4 Hearts Therapy Dogs
Dear Karen and the Paws 4 Hearts Team,
Every December at San Antonio National Cemetery, families walk the rows to find the name of someone they love. For many of them, it is one of the hardest days of the year. For the past three years, Karen and her team have been there alongside them, bringing their gentle, steady dogs and offering a kind of comfort that words can't always give. A child kneeling to pet a dog, or a widow resting her hand on a soft head for a quiet moment: those small moments matter more than any of us can say.
Karen's heart for this community didn't stop there. She also gathered her volunteers for an evening of making ornaments for the honor packages in our Adopt a Grave program. Each ornament goes to a family or volunteer who has committed to remembering a veteran by name, so that no one who served is forgotten. Your time, creativity, and care are now part of that remembrance.
To Karen, to every volunteer, and to every four-legged helper: thank you. Because of your kindness, grieving families feel less alone, and the men and women we honor are remembered with love. You have made our participation in Wreaths Across America richer and more meaningful, and we are proud to stand beside you.
